NEW DATE IN 2021 PRESS RELEASE

The President and the members of the 6th AUTHENTIC PHIDIPPIDES RUN Organizing Committee, are in the unpleasant position to announce the postponement of the Race, for the next year 2021, due to the emergency measures in order to deal with the covid 19 pandemic.

More specifically, while the organizing committee was setting in full power the preparations mechanism of the race, the epidemiological data were changed, resulting the announcement of the Health Committee of the Secretariat Athletics General 21/9/2020: Here

This, practically, means that in the region where extraordinary restrictive measures are applied (covid 19), as in the area of ​​Athens and Attica Region, off stadium sport events are not allowed.

Our huge efforts and contacts with all corresponding Bodies couldn’t result in the decision change, as the prediction for the coming months are even worse.

Considering the above data and guided by the safety of the athletes and volunteers as well as the local communities, we decided to postpone the 6th AUTHENTIC PHIDIPPIDES RUN for November 19th-23rd, 2021.

We are expecting you on the new date, to follow the ancient Phidippides footprints. Our commitment is to make every effort, starting from today, for the best edition of the largest Open Road Race in the world.
